The beast will receive a fatal wound at some point during his reign. Please note, John does not say the Antichrist will be wounded or injured, but instead says he will be fatally wounded. Dead! But the fatal wound will be “healed” meaning he will come back to life! This miracle is intended to mirror Christ’s resurrection. Also note, the world will be enamored with the beast because they will ask the question, “Who is like the beast? Who can wage war against it?”
