Who wrote the Book of Revelation?

Revelation 1:9-10
I, John, your brother and companion in the suffering and kingdom and patient endurance that are ours in Jesus, was on the island of Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus. On the Lord’s Day I was in the Spirit, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet,

The Apostle John wrote the book of Revelation on the Isle of Patmos around the year 95 A.D. where he was exiled by the Roman Emperor for spreading the gospel. Even though the Romans imprisoned John on an island to shut him up, God used this time to call to him in spirit and told him to write down everything he sees. God can use us even in our darkest hours! The revelation presented to John was the future of world events preceding the second coming of Jesus Christ.
