What is the main message of the book of Revelation?

The book of Revelation focuses on John’s vision while he was exiled on the Isle of Patmos. Jesus meets with John and shows him a vision of future world events. The book is filled with imagery and symbolism which makes it difficult to understand, but remember, John is a man who lived in the 1st century and does not have the vocabulary to describe modern technology. But what makes John’s account of chronological future events so amazing is his version is backed up and supported by other great writers in the Bible such as Daniel, Ezekiel, Isaiah and many more. The purpose for the book is to prepare us for the return of Jesus.
