Genesis 11:1-9 NIV (Human Pride) Now the whole world had one language and a common speech. As people moved eastward, they found a plain in Shinar and settled there. They said to each other, “Come, let’s make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” They used brick instead of stone, and tar for mortar. Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves; otherwise we will be scattered over the face of the whole earth.” But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower the people were building. The Lord said, “If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them. Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other.” So the Lord scattered them from there over all the earth, and they stopped building the city. That is why it was called Babel—because there the Lord confused the language of the whole world. From there the Lord scattered them over the face of the whole earth.

Babylon Spirit

The phrase “Babylon Spirit” is a theological term used to refer to the attitudes, values, and systems that existed in Babylon during the 6th Century B.C. reflecting a decay in ethical values resulting in an upsurge of human pride, rebellion against God, moral corruption, and the drive for worldly power. The Babylon Spirit is not a physical being, nor can it be found in the Bible. Instead, it is a change in the world’s moral compass which directly challenges God’s sovereignty, power, and moral authority. It reflects an ideology that focuses on a worldly belief system rather than God’s intended purpose. Babylon was a kingdom built on human glory, a culture of idolatry, a system that oppresses God’s people, and a center of worldly wisdom opposed to God.

This ideology will unknowingly creep back into hearts and minds of governments and humanity leading up to and through the tumultuous 7-Year Tribulation period. This new morality will become the foundation of government overreach around the world and widely accepted by its followers as normal behavior. This mindset will lead to hatred against Christians, Jews and anyone else who disagrees with this new “morality” and will be the driving force which will lead the world to the brink of a human extinction event just prior to the return of Jesus.

So, what are the signs of the Babylon Spirit preceding the return of Jesus? The Babylon Spirit will result in a new world order (Revelation 17:2) that will take all that is good and flip the narrative to make it appear evil. This spirit will be so prevalent during the later days that nations will enact laws that oppose God, promote immorality and persecute believers. The new global system will be morally corrupt (Revelation 18:5), at the center of spiritual adultery (Revelation 17:4), a symbol of luxury, greed, and moral decay (Revelation 17:4), and rule with an iron fist. This mindset will seep throughout humanity and will exalt world wisdom above God’s truth (Revelation 17:5), reject God’s authority (Revelation 18:7), promote self-rule (Revelation 18:7), worship money (Revelation 17:4), power (Revelation 17:3) and pleasure (Revelation 18:3), spiritual deception (Revelation 18:23), sexual immorality (Revelation 18:3), and pressure to conform to worldly values. It is a worldwide, God-opposing system coordinated by Satan (Revelation 12:9).

Many will cast aside this idea of a future dystopian world society as nonsense while others will gladly embrace this ideology. The Babylon Spirit is alive today and permeating throughout nations around the world. Are you ready for the new world government who rules with an iron fist? The foundation for this new world system is currently in place today! One only needs to watch the news and keep up with global current events to realize the world is changing.

Regardless of where you land on this subject one question begs to be asked. Do you consider yourself to be a Christian? This question is critical because you will be challenged in the later days to choose a side. Are you a Christian or will you follow the Babylon Spirit? Think carefully before you answer this question. Why? Because millions will be beheaded just for believing in Christ (Revelation 20:4)! Now, how will you answer this question?

The world is changing and terrible times are ahead. Christians will not be safe, the world will be inching closer to World War III, and governments around the world will oppress its people. Are you ready for the chaos that will come with the Babylon Spirit? Will you proclaim Christ as your savior? Remember, your faith alone will be sufficient evidence for you to be found guilty of a crime that could lead to your execution!
